Car racing is a fun sport that a lot of people love. Over the years, there have been outstanding drivers and cars that have set records that are yet to be broken.

In this article, we are going to be looking at some of the top race cars that won a lot of competition and ultimately redefined the car racing industry.

  1. Chevrolet Corvette C5-R

This beast of a car was able to beat the GT car during the endurance race in the early 2000s. During that time, the C5-R had up to thirty-one ALMS victories and an overall victory in 2001.



  1. Hudson’s Hornet

The Hudson’s Hornet was really a remarkable car back in the days. It once dominated the NASCAR. What made it really special was its light weight which made it have a very low center of gravity, because of this; the Hornet was able to come first most of the time.

The Hornet was able to win eighty races in the short span of 1951 to 1955; it also was able to win 3 championships at this time.

Only a few remember the midget car. Back in the days, the Kurtis Kraft Midget was made by Frank Kurtis.

  1. Nissan Skyline GT-R

This monster was called the Godzilla back in the days because it won 1991 twenty-four house of spa. The skyline GT-R ended up destroying its competitors. The Skyline GT-R went undefeated for four straight seasons.

This car has been considered by many as a true legend. This car was able to show the world that Audi is really serious when it comes to endurance racing.  It had some of it major victories in Le Mans.

The original M3 raced from 1987 to 1993 and had a lot of victories.  During the Multiple touring car championships that took place in numerous countries around Europe, the M3 had a lot of victories and that why it is considered as a legend.

  1. Porsche 956/962

This race car dominated at the Le Mans, in America and Japan. Down to this day, it holds one of the record lap time records. It was able to win the Le Mans in its debut year. The most remarkable thing about this car was its dominance.


  1. Lancia Delta Group A

What made this car a true legend was because it was able to win the WRC constructors championship six straight times from 1987-1992.
